2020-2022 Demo Reel.

Coming soon: a reel of Tyler’s video work from the years 2020-2022.

2019 Demo Reel.

2019 was Tyler’s first year working as a full-time photographer and filmmaker. Here is a look at some of his filmmaking projects from his debut year:

Cumberland Hot Lap.

In June 2019, Tyler stopped in to visit his friend and downhill mountain-biker Brandon Johnson on Vancouver Island; they shot a quick video between stops using an old Nikon D7000.

PlayCity: Celebrating 10,000 downloads.

When Calgary-local tech start-up PlayCity hit 10,000 downloads in the summer of 2020, CEO/Founder Hafiz Mitha called on Tyler to craft a special message for their users, which they shot at the local tennis court where it all began.

Nathan-John Whitbourne: Cross the Lights Music Video.

When Calgary-Vancouver musician Nathan-John Whitbourne needed a music video made for one of his new songs, he turned to Tyler (who was just starting to work as a freelance filmmaker) for a hazy, kinetic music video that also served as an advertisement for Roland.

Hood Park Hero with Kevin James Trupp.

Tyler cut his teeth as a DIY filmmaker shooting BMX and downhill mountain bike edits. In 2018 he spent a sweltering July afternoon chasing after local BMXer Kevin James Trupp as he monster trucked over a tiny little park in the middle of Calgary’s ‘hood - Forest Lawn.

B&P Cycle and Sports: Picks for At-Home Training.

Early in 2021, B&P Cycle and Sports needed an effective way to communicate to a customer-base stuck at home, away from the rinks, and away from valuable practice time. Tyler created a video with B&P staffer Devon Hardie to convey some useful picks for at-home training.

B&P Cycle and Sports: Stampede 2018.

An early video advertisement written, shot, directed, edited, and scored by Tyler for B&P Cycle and Sports’ website - shorter cuts were also used for social media advertisements. It was the success of ads like this, shot as a freelancer, that helped launch Tyler’s photography and filmmaking career.

Over Coping.

Years before Tyler decided to make photography and filmmaking his day job, he spent his spare time running alongside some Calgary-local BMXers with a brick-like Nikon on a cheap Glidecam knock-off. Late in 2015, these sessions began coalescing into a proper edit. That edit became Over Coping.
